Africa Vital Living works with local vendors to provide the services that are needed within the country of Malawi. By contracting with reputable builders and drillers, you be assured that the investment made in the work of AVL is carried out with integrity and quality.
Drilling Of Our Wells
Gift Nyirenda is our well drilling resource within Malawi. Through his Benita organization, Gift provides survey services to review the area where we will drill for water. This is to insure that we only have to drill once to strike a good source of water for the pump that will be installed. Benita also does the drilling and installation of the equipment necessary to draw the water out of the well for village use. With each water well project, we are not only supplying clean water to a local village, but we are also helping to employ men in the process which benefits the local economy as well.
Gift has the necessary resources to not only survey for and drill the well but also the ability to provide pictures to Africa Vital Living so we can keep our project page and project sponsors up to date.
Sturdy Desks For Rural Village Schools
Phynnly Masiku is our in country contractor in Malawi who provides Africa Vital Living with the desks for which we receive funding. He works with local desk construction people to build quality and reliable desks that can withstand the rigors of the rural community and the demands of rambunctious elementary school children. Phynnly delivered our first order of 40 desks during our 2016 visit to Malawi and with your help, we will continue to install many more desks through Malawi and beyond.
Light Up The Night With Solar Lanterns
Africa Vital Living utilizes the revolutionary new light called LuminAid to provide lighting to home and students. This product is waterproof and can provide up to 10-12 hours of light to home on a single day's charging in the sun. The lighting system will provide some 10,000 hours of 75 lumens light to a home and give students an opportunity to continue their studies long after the sun has gone down. As Africa Vital Living receives donations, lighting units are purchased and then delivered to schools by Africa Vital Living staff during annual trips to Africa.
